Vitamin K2 (MK-7) is a type of Vitamin K2, that is, the side chain of vitamin K2 contains 7 isoprene units. It is a fat-soluble vitamin and one of the indispensable and important vitamins in the human body. Vitamin K2, also known as menaquinone 7, is a fat-soluble vitamin, commonly referred to as MK. It is important for the health of bone and cardiovascular. Vitamin K2 is generally subdivided into the short-chain menaquinones (with MK-4 as the most important member) and the long-chain menaquinones, of which MK-7, MK-8 and MK-9 are nutritionally the most recognized.


Among them, vitamin K2 (MK-7) is the most unique in the vitamin K2 family. It has been shown to have the highest bioavailability and a long half-life in the blood after oral ingestion, thus being able to exert its benefits over a longer time cycle.



Difference Between Vitamin K2 MK-4 and Vitamin K2 MK-7

Function

1.Vitamin K2 MK7 is being used to cure haemorrhage caused by VK2 deficiency; promotes the formation of thrombin,accelerates blood clotting, maintains proper clotting time; 2. Vitamin K2 MK7 is being used to treat the degenerative bone disease osteoporosis. VK2 produces a specific protein known as osteocalcin which can bind calcium, therefore to increase the density of bones and to prevent fracture. 3. Vitamin K2 MK7 can prevent hepatocellular carcinoma in women with viral cirrhosis. 4. Vitamin K2 MK7 has function of diuresis, promotes the detoxifcation of liver and lowering the blood pressure.
