What is Carbomer 980?

Carbomer 980 is a cross-linked acrylic polymer, using cyclohexane and ethyl acetate as the reaction solvent. As a water-soluble rheology-modified thickener, it has high-efficiency thickening and suspending properties, and has the characteristics of short rheology (no drip flow). Carbomer is widely used in transparent gel and also used as Cosmetic Ingredients , hydroalcoholic gel and cream systems. And can form bright and transparent water-based or hydroalcoholic gel and cream. This product is calculated as dry product, including carboxylic acid group (-COOH) should be 56.0% ~ 68.0%.

Suggestion

1. The recommended usage is 0.2~1.0 wt%. 2. Spread the polymer evenly in the medium while stirring, but avoid agglomeration, fully stir to disperse it. 3. Neutralization to pH 5.0~10 polymer has ideal thickening performance; in a system with hydroalcohol, the neutralizer should be selected correctly. 4. After neutralization, avoid high-speed shearing or stirring to reduce viscosity loss.
