what is Carmine?

Carmine is a red to dark red uniform powder, odorless. It has good light and acid resistance, strong heat resistance (105 C), poor reduction resistance, and poor bacterial resistance. Soluble in water, water solution is red; soluble in glycerol, slightly soluble in alcohol, insoluble in ethanol, insoluble in oil; stable to citric acid and Tartaric Acid; brown when alkali occurs. The dyeing performance is similar to Amaranth.

Carmine can be used in juice beverages (taste), wine, candy, pastry decoration, dyeing cherries, soy milk beverage, sausage casing, shrimp chips, ice cream, puffed food, jelly, milk powder and so on.
